What were you like growing up, and when did you first begin to imagine the path you’re on today?
Growing up, I was always drawn to creativity, aesthetics, and the way people expressed themselves through what they wore. My mom studied fashion and has always had an incredible sense of style, so fashion was something I was exposed to from a very young age. I was the friend helping others put outfits together, f lipping through fashion magazines, and paying attention to the details that made someone feel confident. While I knew I wanted a career in fashion, I didn’t immediately envision becoming a wardrobe stylist.
My path revealed itself over time. After earning a degree in Fashion Retailing and working for several designers in New York, I gained valuable experience on the business side of the industry. But the more I found myself helping friends and family with their wardrobes, the more I realized that the personal side of fashion was what truly energized me.
What began as a passion project eventually became Affiner in 2016. Looking back, the signs were always there — I just didn’t realize at the time that what came naturally to me would one day become my career.
What do you love most about what you do, and what continues to motivate you?
I love seeing the shift that happens when someone feels truly confident in what they’re wearing. So many people view getting dressed as a source of stress, and it’s incredibly rewarding to help transform it into something that feels easy, enjoyable, and empowering.
What continues to motivate me is knowing that the work goes far beyond clothing. A thoughtfully curated wardrobe can save time, reduce decision fatigue, and help someone show up more confidently in every area of their life. Seeing clients gain confidence, embrace their personal style, and feel excited about getting dressed never gets old!
What advice would you offer young women who hope to follow a path similar to yours?
Don’t be afraid to start before everything feels perfect. Many people wait until they have all the answers, but some of the most valuable lessons come from simply getting started and learning along the way.
I would also encourage young women to stay curious and remain open to opportunities that may not look exactly as they imagined. My path began in fashion wholesale, evolved into styling friends, and eventually became the business I run today.
Most importantly, build genuine relationships and lead with integrity. Fashion is a relationship-driven industry, and longterm success comes from earning trust, delivering exceptional service, and staying true to your vision.
