Nashville has never been short on ambitious women — professionals who dream bigger, work harder, and open doors for those who follow.
From entrepreneurs and executives to creatives, advocates, and innovators, these women are making an impact in their industries, strengthening our community, and proving that success is even more meaningful when it’s shared. They are leaving a lasting mark on Music City — one bold decision at a time.
What was your first job, and what did it teach you that still shapes you today?
Bonnie: Before Well-Dressed, I worked for 13 years as a pediatric cancer nurse. I watched children face the unimaginable — and I saw them laugh through it, play through it, and find joy in the middle of the worst moments of their lives. That changed me in ways I’m still discovering. Entrepreneurship is relentless; nothing ever goes to plan. But those kids taught me … joy is always available, if you choose it. I want Well-Dressed to be known for that — for lightness, for fun, for the belief that even when things are hard, there’s always room to play
Liz: I was an office assistant at my mom’s plastic surgery practice. I started out at 13 doing basic operational tasks. Then I was in charge of reviewing surgery costs with prospective patients. I found it intimidating ... until the office manager kicked in a commission. It was the first time I was paid for what I produced versus the time I showed up. I finally understood why work could be fun.
What do you love most about what you do?
Bonnie: The surprise and delight aspect of Well-Dressed is by far my favorite part of this business. We can make girls’ fashion dreams come true. If you want to shop Ella Langley’s closet, we will try our best to make that happen for you. We have sold Ella’s closet TWICE. There’s never a lack of closet requests at Well-Dressed, so I’ll just be over here sending emails and DMs and shooting my shot.
Liz: My absolute favorite thing about scaling Well-Dressed is seeing new customers out and about in something they bought from us that they absolutely love. It’s so cool that we can extend the life of a pair of jeans, a dress, or a vintage Chanel bag, and that our customers can know exactly where each item came from.
What role has Nashville played in shaping your career and your perspective?
Liz: I don’t think Well-Dressed could have been born anywhere other than Nashville. It’s such a unique city with so many celebrities and influencers who still maintain a down-to-earth vibe. These are girls who want to let other girls shop their closet and do something fun to connect with their followers and fans. We now take closets from all over the country, but the approachable, trustworthy aspect remains intact. In an industry where trust is everything, that makes a huge difference.
What advice would you offer young women who hope to follow a path similar to yours?
Bonnie: Be relentless in going after your dream. You must believe that it will happen in the depths of your soul. And then, you will have to choose to be uncomfortable on a daily basis to make it work. And don’t worry. It will take a lot longer than you think.
