Julie Carell Stadler gives credit to her father for instilling business acumen in her at the age of 16.
"My dad started taking me along on his business meetings, making me take notes, and discussing them with me afterward," she explained.
Carell Stadler took those early lessons and followed her own passion—founding Dance Network, the first-ever digital network showcasing all dance styles, and purchasing Skyway Studios.
The latter, Carell Stadler’s 125,000-square-foot television production facility in Nashville, is the only full-service, state-of-the-art broadcast and production campus in Tennessee, providing services for cable outlets, independent producers, and digital networks. She credits being raised in Nashville as an advantage for the growth and success of both of her companies.
"This connection has given me access to a wide network of successful, influential people in this city,” she says, “They have been invaluable to me—offering advice and support in the beginning phase of my businesses and still continue. Therefore, I think it’s important for women executives like myself to help and mentor other women entrepreneurs.”
Being one of the few women owners in the entertainment and production industry presents its own set of challenges. She finds balance and solace in competitive ballroom dancing.
"I always make time for practice and lessons at least one or two times per week," she says.
