Leslie Fram
Our annual list of trailblazing women are creating lasting legacies for themselves and for the city of Nashville. Now they’re sharing their stories, their triumphs, their setbacks, and their advice with us. Prepare to be inspired.
Early Aspirations
Growing up, I was extremely shy and listened to the radio as my form of entertainment. In high school, I wanted to be a journalist and was the editor of our paper and did album reviews for local publications. Music was my passion.
Challenges Faced
In radio, I worked every imaginable shift, starting with midnight to 6 a.m. I studied my craft to become Music Director and then Program Director with a dual role as On-Air Talent. My shift from radio to television was in 2011 with a move to CMT. Being a woman in a primarily male-dominated field, you have to work harder, be smarter, and remain professional across the board. Today, I am fortunate to work for a company that values, respects, and promotes diversity and inclusion.
The Definition of Success
Personal happiness and health with my husband, family, and friends and helping others to succeed in their life journey.
Work Perks
[I love] working with my team to create opportunities for artists at every level.
The Nashville Connection
Nashville is truly about community! The collaborative nature and nurturing spirit has been one of the most rewarding aspects of my career.
