Nashville Lifestyles: Tell us about your “Women and Wealth” series….
David Adams: We are in our 3rd year of hosting amazing groups of women from all different industries and backgrounds and a variety of top-notch speakers. It’s an opportunity for women to learn about and discuss important and sensitive conversations around wealth. We’ve also hosted the events at really fun venues and those that support women’s initiatives (like Thistle Farms), and spotlighted women’s businesses during our sessions. Many of our attendees have met new friends and professionals they are working with, which is so cool to see!
NL: David, why did the team decide to start this program for women?
DA: It’s estimated that by 2030, women in the United States are expected to control $34 trillion in financial assets, up from $7.3 trillion just a decade ago (McKinsey & Company 2021). Our firm recognized that women, in general, face unique financial challenges, including pay gaps, longer life expectancies, and often taking career breaks for family reasons. Our Women & Wealth series was created as a way to address these specific needs and provide women with the tools and knowledge they need to take control of their financial future. It’s not just about investing—it’s about empowering women with the financial literacy to make informed decisions, build wealth, and prepare for retirement.
NL: Jeri Anne, what are the top 2 (or 3) things you discuss there?
Jeri Anne: Our topics have covered the spectrum from emotions surrounding money, protecting your family’s legacy, nutrition and health coaching, how to teach your children about money, aging parents, and many more.
NL: I haven’t heard of another financial planning company doing this. How can women get involved and when is the next one?
JA: Exactly! That’s why we’re proud to lead this initiative in Middle TN—it’s so rewarding to see women building confidence and community around these topics. In addition to hosting quarterly events (our next one is in September!), we also send out a monthly Women & Wealth newsletter filled with actionable tips and healthy habits to help women take charge of their financial future.
