Biography
Dr. Brandon Downs has been delivering premium sports medicine and orthopaedic care to the Nashville area for 19 years. As one of Nashville's most respected orthopaedic surgeons, he is passionate about providing care that restores comfort, mobility, and function for his patients.
Dr. Downs specializes in state-of-the-art orthopaedic procedures, including advanced arthroscopic surgical treatments for shoulder and knee injuries, as well as computer-assisted, minimally invasive joint replacement of the shoulder, hip, and knee. He also offers cartilage restoration and joint preservation procedures. Notably, he performed the first computer-navigated total shoulder replacement in the state of Tennessee.
A Nashville native, Dr. Downs attended Belmont University on the Maddox Full Presidential Scholarship. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at the prestigious Campbell Clinic in Memphis, followed by a fellowship in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the world-renowned Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio, consistently ranked among the nation's top orthopaedic hospitals.
Dr. Downs provides concierge medical care through his private practice alongside the Orthopaedic Specialists team, including physician assistants Andrew, Matt, and Sam, administrator Rodney, and head nurse Jacque. He has extensive experience treating athletes and patients of all ages.
Widely published, Dr. Downs has contributed numerous peer-reviewed articles, presentations, and textbook chapters. He is board-certified in Orthopaedic Surgery and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine from the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He maintains active privileges at multiple Nashville hospitals and surgery centers and serves as head team physician for several athletic teams throughout the region.

Dr. John Schneider founded Comprehensive Pain & Neurology Center more than 15 years ago.
