Dr. Ruth Ross Edmonds is originally from Gary, Indiana. She came to Nashville to begin her studies at Vanderbilt University. Upon graduation, she enrolled at Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) with top honors and earned the Alpha Omega Award for highest GPA. She went on to study at the University of Tennessee in Memphis where she completed her graduate training in Orthodontics. After graduating, Dr. Ruth set up her private practice, Braces by Dr. Ruth, in the heart of midtown, providing cutting-edge orthodontic care. The practice philosophy is to present a well-organized orthodontic practice witha straightforward approach to quality care in a family-friendly environment. The goal is for our patients to feel that the experience with our office is remarkable, unique, pleasurable and rewarding.While building her practice, she served as an assistant professor at Meharry Medical College. Always eager to expand her knowledge of new technology and stay current with exciting trends in the field, Dr. Ruth Edmonds regularly attends seminars, and is constantly building on her foundation in orthodontic treatment. She is also affiliated with a number of professional organizations. She is married to vocalist, Kevon Edmonds, lead singer of the R&B group After 7. Together they have a daughter, Karmella Rose Edmonds. Outside of the office, Dr. Ruth is passionate about cooking, fitness, traveling, shopping and planning events. She also enjoys creating works of fused glass. Both in and out of the office, Dr. Ruth brings dedication, discipline, and a sense of joy to everything she does.
