What is one thing that most people don’t know about you?
I’m dyslexic. It’s not something I’ve ever spoken about publicly, partly due to the stigma. I’m grateful there is more awareness now because many of us felt lesser facing challenges that many didn’t and still don’t understand. Walt Disney, Muhammad Ali, and Albert Einstein are among many accomplished people who lived with dyslexia.
Who has been the greatest influence in your life?
My husband, Bill Miller. He has a way of bringing out the best in people. It’s very inspiring. He has always believed in me and pushed me to be the best I can be. I’m prepared and ready for anything that comes my way.
Who is someone you consider a hero and why?
I know many heroes, but you might not know their names… Just regular people overcoming challenges. It’s the single mother or father going at it alone. It’s someone who’s faced substance, emotional, or physical abuse that overcame it, despite all odds. Heroes are among us. They may not have money or power, but that makes their contributions even more remarkable.
