Graphic designer Amy Kinslow has aspired to create her own line of paper goods since working in a small stationery boutique several years ago. Taking a cue from her roots in Lebanon, Tennessee, Kinslow turned her vision into a reality with Southern Fried Design Barn. 'I knew the Southern culture all too well, and seeing that the stationery industry was lacking that niche, the light bulb went off and I got to work,” she explains.
Part design studio and part paper goods company, Southern Fried Design Barn specializes in American-made products with a dose of regional charm. Drawing inspiration from her late grandparents' vernacular and the rolling hills of her family's farm, Kinslow says she hopes to give iconic Southern sayings new life with her line of punchy cards and note pads. What's more, all of her prints showcase Kinslow's own photography, which she takes throughout Middle Tennessee.
Hoping to share a little bit of her beloved heritage through her wares, Kinslow says, 'I just want to spread that downhome, Southern culture with the rest of the world.”
