Nashville Lifestyles hosted its annual Music in the City event featuring a Q&A and performance with January cover star Jason Aldean at his bar, Jason Aldean's Kitchen + Rooftop Bar on January 20.
The unforgettable evening was candid and intimate, with Aldean reflecting on his journey and expressing heartfelt gratitude to fans who have supported him since he first stepped into the industry in 2003. He opened up about the early days of his career and the winding path that led him to the success he enjoys today, offering fans a rare behind‑the‑scenes glimpse into his rise.
Attendees also learned that his upcoming album, Song About Us, is “definitely one of the more personal ones we’ve ever done.” Aldean teased several tracks to watch for, performing two of them, “How Far Does a Goodbye Go” and “Help You Remember”, ahead of the album’s April 24 release. He also treated the crowd to “Whiskey Drink” from Highway Desperado.
The close‑knit setting and storytelling, paired with fan‑favorite performances and sneak peeks of new music, made the night perfect for singing along, dancing, and celebrating.
Speaking of dancing, the evening also included a performance from Blank Page, the newest signing to MTSU’s Match Records - a student-run record label within the MTSU Scott Borchetta College of Media & Entertainment.
Guests enjoyed complimentary Crown Royal cocktails, including the Crown Blackberry & Lemonade, Crown Blackberry & Ginger Ale, and Crown Blackberry & Soda Water, while sampling Crown Royal’s newest Chocolate Whiskey and taking in the evening’s stellar performances.
A portion of ticket proceeds benefited the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America (AFA) and Dream Streets. The mission of the AFA is to provide support, services and education to individuals, families and caregivers affected by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias nationwide, and fund research for better treatment and a cure. Dream Streets is a local nonprofit organization whose mission is to protect and empower individuals living in distress. Their programs serve under-resourced families in West and North Nashville.
