Nashville School of Law (NSL) held its 23rd annual Recognition Dinner at the Renaissance Hotel in Nashville. The event, the proceeds from which provide scholarships to deserving NSL students, honored four leaders in the legal community for their contributions to the profession, the state and the school. Two graduates, Brenda Franks Hale and Douglas S. Hale, jointly received the Distinguished Graduates Award. NSL professor Hal Hardin received the Distinguished Faculty Award. Senior Judge Martha Craig Daughtrey of the United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit, and life long trailblazer in the legal community, received the Community Service Award. The Nashville school of Law's dinner is one of the most popular social events for Tennessee's legal community. More than 600 lawyers and judges attended.
