On Friday, October 11, the Nashville Opera hosted the "Art & Arias" fundraiser at the spectacular home of Judy and Joe Barker.
Guests had the opportunity to view the Barker's stunning collection of fine art including rare Japanese woodcuts, which echoed the theme of Nashville Opera's recent production of Madame Butterfly.
Kristen Winston Catering provided specialty bites and cocktails, and the evening was studded with performances by Metropolitan Opera artists Adam Diegel and Cassandra Zoé Velasco.
Plans were unveiled for a Ruby & Silver Anniversary Dinner to be held on October 10, 2020, co-chaired by Ellen Martin and Julie Boehm. Honoring Nashville Opera's 40th Anniversary and John Hoomes' 25th Anniversary as Artistic Director, the gala dinner will be followed by a multi-media concert performance of the most dazzling and beloved music Nashville Opera has presented over the years in TPAC's Jackson Hall. An after-party at War Memorial Auditorium will cap the celebration that officially opens the Opera's 40th season.
