Nashville Lifestyles hosted its annual Music in the City event featuring a sold-out Q&A and performance with January cover star Jelly Roll at his new bar, Goodnight Nashville on February 20.
Jelly Roll said it best: Music is medicine. Nashville Lifestyle's Music in the City event goes to show that his words ring true. The Nashville native put on a heartwarming and head-nodding show, reminiscing on days where singing on his own Broadway stage seemed impossible and playing hits that changed his life.
"I never thought that I would have my name on one [a Broadway bar], I never thought that I would be on the cover of Nashville Lifestyles," Jelly Roll shared during the pre-show Q&A. "All of this is a dream come true man. The support is unreal."
The unforgettable night proved to be a full circle moment for him, and he expressed gratitude to the fans. Songs such as "Son Of A Sinner," "Save Me," "Need A Favor," and even the honky-tonk classic "Friends In Low Places" proved to be superb for singing along and dancing.
Speaking of dancing, rising folk artist and Middle Tennessee State University alum Chloe Kimes treated attendees to a boot-tapping opening performance. Her high energy sound excelled at exciting the crowd for Jelly Roll.
The event's guests were able to sip complimentary Crown Royal Blackberry cocktails amidst sampling Crown Royal's canned whiskey lemonades in peach, lemon, mango, and blackberry flavors while listening to the stellar performances.
Guests were also able to explore samples of The Root Brands top-tier products formulated by Dr. Christina Rahm. The wellness samples serve as a wonderful tool for focusing or even a pick-me-up, perfect for the day after rocking out to Jelly Roll.
A portion of the proceeds from the event also benefited Dream Streets, a non-profit organization whose mission is to protect and empower under-resourced families in West and North Nashville.
Thank you to presenting sponsor MTSU College of Media & Entertainment, and sponsors Jelly Roll's Goodnight Nashville, Crown Royal, Hatef Aesthetics, Gulf County Florida Tourism, and The Root Brands by Dr. Christina Rahm.
