On Wednesday, March 4, Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, Tennessee's largest nonprofit law firm, held its annual Breakfast of Champions at City Winery in downtown Nashville.
Speaking at the event was former Baltimore Raven and Tennessee Titan Michael Oher, who inspired the book "The Blind Side: Evolution of a Game" and later wrote about his life in the book "I Beat The Odds." Several Legal Aid Society clients spoke about their experiences as well.
Breakfast of Champions is a fundraising, networking and mission awareness event that brings together Middle Tennessee’s legal community and corporate leaders to support the programs of Legal Aid Society. All proceeds from the event go to the 2020 Campaign for Equal Justice, held annually since 1987 to support the mission of the nonprofit law firm. This year’s campaign goal is $830,000.
Event sponsors included KraftCPAs, Belmont University College of Law, SunTrust, Pinnacle Financial Partners, GRSM Law, Middle Tennessee Association of Legal Administrators, and State Farm Insurance Agent Terry Jones.
