On Saturday, April 30, guests gathered at the Omni Nashville Hotel for the twenty-second annual JDRF Promise Gala, bringing together Nashville Predators Winger Luke Kunin and Titans family, the Robinsons.
Jon and Jaimie Robinson were co-chairs the event, plus their daughter Taylor was this year’s Fund A Cure speaker, where she gave her personal testimony about what it means to live with Type 1. Since Taylor’s Type 1 diagnosis at age six, the Robinson family has been T1D Heroes, tirelessly supporting Type 1 diabetes awareness, fundraising, and research efforts.
Kunin, who was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was twelve-years-old, was honored with the T1D Champion Award at the gala. In November 2021, Kunin made news when he launched the Luke Kunin T1D Fund to raise funds for Type 1 diabetes research.
JDRF beat their $2 million goal by over half a million and raised $2.7 million! Items were auctioned off and all proceeds benefitted JDRF.
