Visionary Award-Scott Chambers, Lori Mechem, and Roger Spencer
On Saturday, October 19, Jazzmania, the Nashville Jazz Workshop's annual jazz party and fundraiser, was hosted in Liberty Hall at the Factory at Franklin.
The festive affair is in its 19th year, and raises money to support the Workshop's jazz classes, performances, and community programs. Party-goers enjoyed delicious food from Sargent's Fine Catering, wine, beer, and spirits from Lipman Brothers and Cathead Vodka, and music from the Gerald Clayton Quartet, the Lori Mechem Quartet, and student musicians from the Nashville Jazz Workshop's Young Artist Program.
A special fundraising appeal took place during the evening to support the Jazz Workshop's upcoming relocation from its home of 19 years in the Neuhoff Complex to a new facility in the Buchanan Street Arts District. The evening's program also included the annual Jazz Heritage Award, presented this year to jazz guitarist (and member of the Time Jumpers) Andy Reiss, and a special Visionary Award presented to longtime Board member, developer and jazz musician Scott Chambers.
