On Thursday, August 20, Nashville Lifestyles hosted its annual Women in Business event at the beautiful Hilton Nashville Green Hills. More than 300 local business professionals gathered for an evening of networking, inspiration, and celebration honoring some of Nashville's most accomplished women leaders, along with a special guest appearance by our August cover star, Jessie James Decker.
The evening kicked off with a lively networking reception featuring cocktails courtesy of LALO Tequila and Tito’s Handmade Vodka, along with hors d’oeuvres from Hilton Nashville Green Hills’ Harth restaurant, including charcuterie, tomato and burrata salad, chicken spring rolls, and watermelon salad.
Guests had the opportunity to connect with fellow professionals, celebrate this year's honorees, and enjoy an energetic atmosphere before the seated program began.
The theater-style program featured live Q&A conversations with this year's honorees, who reflected on the defining steps that shaped their career journeys, shared advice for young women hoping to follow in their footsteps, discussed what they love most about their work, and offered their personal definitions of success. Their stories highlighted the diverse paths, challenges, and opportunities that have led them to become leaders in their respective industries.
The program continued with an inspiring conversation featuring Jessie James Decker, who shared insights into her multifaceted career spanning fashion, retail, music, publishing, and entrepreneurship. During the discussion, Decker spoke about building and growing her brands, the pivotal decisions that helped shape her success, the importance of creating opportunities for herself, and the lessons she's learned throughout her professional journey. She also offered advice for women looking to build successful careers while remaining authentic to themselves and their goals.
Most importantly, Decker stressed that her greatest role is that of wife and mother. She said her family is what truly completes her and serves as her personal measure of success.
This year's honorees represented a wide range of industries and included Ashley Eller-Cottrell, Becky Harris, Bonnie Kirby, Liz Streisand, Brittney Oliver, Caitlin Costello, Caitlin Hart, Jenna Wolf, Celeste Leon, Holly Rexroat, Jackie Martínez Marushka, Jasmine Dary, Joyce T. A portion of proceeds from the Women in Business event benefited Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee.
