Chukkers for Charity announced The Anderson Group’s team Aaron Barrett, Wes Finlayson, Alejandro Gonzales and Stevie Orthwein nudged out Ironhorse Farms’ team Cruz Bilbao, Sophie Grant, Diego “Joaquin” Arguello and Wesley “Whistle” Uys.
The teams competed on Saturday, Sept. 6 for the 29th annual sporting event held in Franklin, Tenn. benefiting Rochelle Center and Saddle Up!. This is one of the highest grossing events in the 29 year history.
Aaron Barrett won the MVP award which was a Frederique Constant timepiece from Diamond Cellar presented by Meghan McKenzie. Sophie Grant, one of the top 10 American women players won for Best Playing Pony.
This year’s theme “Fiesta on the Field,” was inspired by the art, music, colors and tastes of Mexico and was reflected in fashion, decorations, lively music and Mexican fare. Tailgaters and VIP Cabana patrons decorated their area to the theme of the event. The tailgating group that won the contest was Natalie Pauley Gilbert and Eliza O’Neil and second place went to Jon Papaik and JunKing Journey.
There was a lively silent auction and Lipman Bros. hosted the bar featuring the Chukkerita signature cocktail. Halftime featured attendees repairing the divots on the field followed by a Stick Horse Race among the kids in attendance.
This year’s co-chairs are Falon Veit Scott, Brittany Haugh and Ben Swann avid volunteers for the event and non-profit organizations.
