Mercedes-Benz of Music City at night
NAHT Coalition was shining bright on November 11 at Mercedes-Benz of Music City.
Event hosts Libba and Edwin Vickery, co-chairs Carissa and Tim Pereira, Memree and Rich Roberts, and Mary Morgan and Paul Ketchel welcomed 400 guests to the dealership-turned event venue for an educational and festive evening.
A packed crowd of Nashvillians accepted the invitation to discover NAHT. Guests were moved through a series of experiences designed to raise awareness of the dire human trafficking situation in Nashville. As Music City continues to boom it has become a hub for international human trafficking. Last night’s event took an important first step in educating people about the impact to our city and what we can do to combat the growth of this serious crime and rescue victims.
In addition to the educational program, guests were treated to a live art piece being created on stage by artist Dana Petit Olson. Delicious bites were provided by Chef’s Market, wines given by the Wine Chap, and signature cocktails including the Blackberry Benz, named for the event were donated by Ole Smoky Distillery.
Distinguished guests included both of Tennessee’s senators, US Senator Marsha Blackburn and husband Chuck and US Senator Bill Hagerty and Chrissy Hagerty. Members of the Metro Nashville human- trafficking task force were in attendance as well as representatives from Governor Bill Lee’s office. Rescue Restore and Hope Circle Sponsors included Alliance Bernstein Core Civic, First Bank, Dettwiller Family Foundation, Lisa and William Morgan, Cecile and CJ Gideon, Janice and George Goodwin, Elizabeth and Bill Hawkins, and many other generous individuals. Mercedes EQS electric car was on display, the first of the series in the US. NAHT board member and event co-chair Mary Morgan Ketchel welcomed the energized crowd and opened the program. Guests heard from NAHT’s Founder and Executive Director Mary Trapnell, board member RA Dickey, and survivor Christina Meadows.
Host Edwin Vickery took the stage for a live auction to round out the evening's excitement. More than $500,000 was raised for rescues and restorative work.
