Spring Outing Patrons Party attendees gather in the lawn
On May 18, Andrew Jackson's Hermitage held their 121st Annual Spring Outing.
The Annual Spring Outing dates back to the turn of the twentieth century, when members of the Ladies’ Hermitage Association would gather on the front lawn of the Hermitage mansion for a lunch meeting. Since then, Spring Outing has evolved into a major fundraiser to benefit the Andrew Jackson Foundation’s education and preservation projects.
White House historian and author Jennifer Pickens served as the keynote speaker, captivating the audience with tales of entertaining customs from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in the last sixty years. Following the event, Pickens did a book signing in the downstairs foyer of the Hermitage mansion.
