The tulips are expected to hit peak bloom at Cheekwood this weekend during their annual springtime festival, Cheekwood in Bloom. The botanical garden and art museum is extending its hours until 7 p.m. daily, from March 26 to April 6, so that more people can experience the spectacular display of the colorful blooms.
Tiptoe through the tulips in this year’s Dutch-inspired display, and while you're there, sip a signature cocktail, craft brew or non-alcoholic beverage from Cafe 29, which is operated by the French-American bar and restaurant, Sea Salt.
Tickets must be purchased in advance and can be bought here.
Two additional happenings at Cheekwood coming up to keep on your radar include:
Great Spring Art Hunt, April 2-3: With safety and social distancing in mind, Cheekwood is putting the egg hunts on pause this year and having a new kind of hunt: the Great Spring Art Hunt! Guests of all ages can wander through the gardens, enjoy the spring blooms and search for nine giant bunnies during this new take on the Spring Art Hop event. Clever cottontails decorated by local Nashville artists will be hiding throughout Cheekwood’s lush spring-time gardens. When families arrive for the day, each child will receive a bundle of goodies and a guide to help them find the rabbits. There will also be themed activities and cheerful music for a day of family fun.
Native Plant Sale, April 10: The Garden Club of Nashville will host the thirteenth annual Native Plant Sale at Cheekwood. The sale will take place inside Cheekwood’s Botanic Hall and will offer fifty different varieties of blooming wildflowers, pollinator plants, shade loving plants and other favorites perfect for local gardens. There will also be an assortment of select native shrubs and flowering trees, which offer vibrant springtime blooms and brilliant fall color. Admission to the Native Plant Sale is included with membership or general admission. Advanced reservations is required and capacity is limited. Proceeds from the sale will benefit the Howe Garden at Cheekwood.
