Honoring 'Rhinestone Cowboy” Glen Campbell, Studio Tenn's fifth annual Legacy Series takes the Ryman Auditorium stage for a two-night theatrical performance on June 30 and July 1. Campbell, who passed away in 2017 of Alzheimer's, was a rock ‘n' roll and country music icon, and remains a prominent influencer of today's music.
'Once we announced the show, I received so many messages from all types of artists who consider Mr. Campbell to be the reason they chose the recording industry. I hope that the audience is reminded of this great man and his incredible career,” Studio Tenn artistic director Matt Logan says.
The Glen Campbell Legacy: A Tribute to the Rhinestone Cowboy will feature a wide range of Nashville talent.
'Unlike other Legacy shows, this one will be extremely personal. Many of the cast members knew or worked with Mr. Campbell. I can say that there will be some stories and personal twists to the songs. This changes the feel of our show and really pulls out the heart of the performances,” Logan adds.
The decision to have the musical performance at the Ryman Auditorium was a clear choice for Studio Tenn.
'Once the Legacy series was born, I hoped that one day we would make it to the Mother Church of country music. The Ryman is a pinnacle for tourists, and that there is magic in that great room,” Logan says.
