
In a press release on Wednesday, February 24, The DISTRICT, Inc., and Metro Historical Commission Foundation announced that they will host a star-studded, two-hour musical event to be broadcast in primetime on NewsChannel5 on Friday, March 26, from the stage of the iconic Wildhorse Saloon.
The event will raise money for the 2ndAveStrong relief fund and will help support the immediate and long-term efforts to restore the Second Avenue neighborhood impacted by last year's Christmas Day bombing.
The two-hour benefit concert will be hosted by Natalie Stovall of Runaway June and feature an A-list lineup of musical performers including Ashley McBryde, BRELAND, Derek St. Holmes, Lee Brice, Lindsay Ell, Old Dominion, Phil Vassar, Phillip Phillips, Scotty McCreery, Shenandoah w/ special guest Gyth Rigdon and Tyler Rich, and take a fascinating look back on the importance 2nd Avenue played in the history of Nashville. Some of Music City's biggest stars will join together and share their talent to raise money and support the restoration of this iconic Nashville neighborhood.

The show will also feature appearances by Nashville Mayor John Cooper and Governor Bill Lee, in addition to a tribute to the heroic first responders who were on the scene that day.
“Giving back to the community speaks to the very heart of what we do every day through hospitality to our guests. The fact that we can join with the music industry to help rebuild this incredible neighborhood of an eclectic blend of artists, business owners, and community leaders is humbling,” said show producer Brian Schafer, general manager of the Wildhorse Saloon.
In addition to the broadcast Friday, March 26, at 7 p.m. on NewsChannel 5, the Wildhorse Saloon, Grand Ole Opry, and Metro Historical Commission Foundation will also share links to the livestream on their respective websites and social media channels.
Funds raised will be distributed to support restoration and preservation of impacted buildings and streetscapes and associations working collaboratively to restore and revitalize 2nd Avenue.
