Opening May 20, Dolly Parton: Journey of a Seeker at Country Music Hall of Fame captures the grit, glitz, and glamour of the country music queen herself.
The exhibit features iconic clothing and shoes, awards, handwritten lyrics, instruments, photographs, exclusive interview footage, and so much more. Dolly Parton: Journey of a Seeker highlights turning points in her illustrious 60-year career, whether it be defying odds and overcoming challenges or spreading endless joy and becoming a widely beloved celebrity across the world.
“Being inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame was one of the greatest moments of my life, and being able to have a personal exhibit for the fans that put me there is a very big deal to me,” says Dolly Parton. “This seeker is very proud and honored, and I hope you enjoy my journey. I will always love you.”
Dolly enthusiasts and country music fans can look forward to seeing Parton’s first draft of handwritten lyrics to her #1 country hit “Jolene," a cowgirl outfit she wore in scenes of the 1980 Hollywood film “9 to 5,” a Lucy Adams-designed dress that Parton wore on “The Porter Wagoner Show” and the cover of the 1974 album Porter ’n’ Dolly, and other treasured memorabilia.
Visit and you’ll be asking yourself “What Would Dolly Do?” in every situation. Dolly Parton: Journey of a Seeker will be open through September 2026. Access is included with museum admission. A limited number of timed tickets for the exhibit are available each day. Advance reservations are encouraged. More information and tickets can be found on Country Music Hall of Fame's website.
