Combing two of Music City’s most cherished pastimes—music and brunch—Nashville Repertory Theatre’s biggest fundraising event is back, live and in person, with its most exciting lineup yet.
Coming to City Winery on August 22, the sixth annual Broadway Brunch will celebrate the power of live theatre over brunch, bottomless cocktails, live and silent auctions, and can’t-miss musical performances from Nashville’s remarkable theatrical talent.
Presented by Amazon and Nashville Law Offices, the Broadway Brunch will be chaired by Julie Schneider and Tracy Wade, along with Nashville-based singer, songwriter, and actress Kellie Pickler who will serve as this year’s Honorary Chair. No stranger to the world of entertainment, the triple threat has a lengthy list of accomplishments under her belt, including appearances on American Idol and Dancing With the Stars (she was the season 16 winner), starring roles in Hallmark movies, and an Emmy nomination for cohosting the daytime television series Pickler & Ben.
Recognizing those who have made significant contributions to Nashville Repertory Theatre and to the Nashville arts community at large, the theatre’s Ovation Award will honor Vicki Horne. As the cofounder of Broadway Brunch, it’s only fitting that Horne will be recognized for her unparalleled contributions at the very event she helped institute. Horne served on Nashville Repertory Theatre’s board from 2009 to 2016 and was President for two years, in which the Rep became Nashville Repertory Theatre under her leadership.
Although a delicious brunch complete with plenty of cocktails and exciting live performances is worthy of indulgence in and of itself, the Broadway Brunch is a treat you can feel good about. Funds raised at the event directly support Nashville Repertory Theatre’s professional productions, publicly staged readings, Ingram New Works Project and Festival, and educational and enrichment programs for students and the community.
Since 1985, Nashville Repertory Theatre has been committed to creating the highest quality professional productions and serving as a cultural, educational, and economic resource in Nashville and Middle Tennessee communities. The nonprofit produces works that are designed, built, and rehearsed right here in Nashville to introduce classic and contemporary theatre that inspires empathy and promotes intellectual and emotional engagement among audiences.
Broadway Brunch tickets are available for $200 and tables seat up to ten. In addition to general admission tickets, patron tickets are also available at varying levels and include an elegant patron Party at the home of Co-Chair Julie Schneider on August 19.
After last year’s Broadway Brunch was moved online for a virtual Broadway Brunch At Night event, Nashville Rep is elated to bring the beloved brunch back in person in tandem with the Theatre’s return to live onstage performances for its 37th season.
“Julie and I are excited to be a part of Nashville Repertory Theatre’s return to live performance,” says Co-Chair Tracy Wade. “Broadway Brunch is a terrific event where hundreds of art lovers in the Nashville community gather to celebrate the magic of theatre and the local artists who make it happen. After the year we’ve had, it’ll just be all the more extraordinary. Julie and I look forward to seeing friends, old and new, live and in-person.”
