Perched on the second floor of the Vertis Green Hills building, SculptHouse is one of Nashville’s newest boutique fitness studios.
Here, certified instructors combine 25 minutes of strength training using the Lagree Fitness method on a Megaformer with 25 minutes of cardio intervals on a human-powered treadmill. SculptHouse’s intimate classes and personal training offers a low impact, but high intensity workout for any age or fitness level.
Here are five things to know before you go.
1. SculptHouse is the first studio in the world to combine Megaformer and treadmill.
Originating in Atlanta in 2016, SculptHouse was the first studio to incorporate the Lagree Fitness Megaformer method with cardio on a treadmill. Founder Katherine Mason created a way to combine the two machines in a split-class format.
2. SculptHouse Boutique carries over 30 different lines from around the world.
In the SculptHouse Boutique, you’ll find a combination of active wear that’s comfortable for a challenging workout, and athleisure clothing, shoes, and accessories that complement an active lifestyle with an overall purpose for comfort. The boutique also carries an exclusive line of shoes, EssUtEsse, not sold anywhere else in the Southeast US.
3. This particular workout accommodates all fitness levels and injuries—yes, even knee problems!
The treadmill’s curve design and slat belt system provides an orthopedic approach to cardio. The curved surface allows users to perfect their running form, with a lower impact on your hips, knees and back. The human-powered machines burn up to 30% more calories than running outside or on a regular treadmill, so even just walking on the treadmill is extremely effective.
4. Nashville is SculptHouse’s second location (and first step towards national expansion).
Nashville was selected as SculptHouse’s second location for a reason—there is no other workout program like it in Music City. Additionally, the method complements the other workouts and studios offered around the city. SculptHouse is motivated to bring its workout to other cities across the US in the future.
5. The Megaformer is a magic machine.
It is a combination of strength training, stretching, core strengthening, balance—and most importantly, it is not Pilates. The Lagree Fitness method has become a favorite workout of athletes and celebrities because of its toning capabilities and injury prevention. Many celebrities, including Jennifer Aniston, are SculptHouse regulars.
