On Thursday, August 21, TEDxNashvilleWomen returns with an afternoon of powerful speakers, inspiring stories, and endless opportunities for connection with the TEDxNashvilleWomen: Wired event. The event will be held at Category 10 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. and will feature women who are leaders in their fields and driving change across science, culture, health, and art.
Expect riveting and insightful discussions on topics ranging from brain health and AI to children’s health and so much more. And Wired is more than just a conference, it’s an opportunity to explore the ways we think, relate, and move forward alongside powerful leaders and big thinkers. “Expect to be lit up — intellectually, emotionally, and conversationally. A TEDxNashville event isn’t a typical lecture or panel. It’s a cultural gathering that feels like the premiere of your favorite film, only the ideas are the stars and the people sitting next to you are just as moved as you are,” says Jeremy Snow, President of TEDxNashville. “The energy in the room is undeniable: people are chattering, anticipating, and deeply present. And the conversation doesn’t stop there. These talks spark connections that carry forward into our year-round Spotlight Series of salon-style events, where we keep building on the ideas that moved us most.”
The event is broken up into two parts. Part I: The Currents We Carry explores the forces, internally and externally, that shape who we are and how we evolve. Then, transition from insight into action in Part II: The Power We Plug Into. These talks dive into where we go next, and examines how plugging into the right stories, communities, and tools can fuel change both personally and on a larger scale.
With these conversations comes the opportunity not only to connect, but also to rethink the way we view the things that impact us all through stories that inspire, ideas that drive change, and people who motivate.
“Wired is about how we’re connected to ourselves, to each other, and to the world. We’ve curated a lineup of women who are reshaping how we think about power, resilience, intimacy, and transformation. What makes it impactful is how multi dimensional the experience is. It’s as intellectually stimulating as it is emotionally resonant. These are talks that reframe things you thought you already understood and invite you to see them through a whole new lens,” Snow says.
This event wouldn’t be what it is without an incredible lineup of speakers who are willing to share their stories and ideas. It’s no easy feat bringing an event of this magnitude to life, and no detail was overlooked in creating an experience that attendees will remember.
“It all starts months, sometimes a year, in advance with identifying speakers whose voices deserve a platform. From there, we invest deeply in helping them craft their talks. Every speaker works with us over a 4 to 12-month period to develop something truly extraordinary,” says Snow. “It’s an arduous process because TED is an art form — one that demands clarity, vulnerability, and craft. We also care immensely about the environment we’re creating. From the venue to the vibe, everything is designed to invite curiosity, openness, and reflection.”
This year, Wired will introduce a new TEDxNashville mentorship experience, MentorUp. The program offers attendees an opportunity to create informal, cross-generational connections and enjoy a post-event mixer to keep the conversation going.
In the last 15 years, TEDxNashville has featured over 200 speakers, attracted 22,000 attendees, and its talks have garnered more than 18 million views worldwide. It’s a community dedicated to turning inspiration into action, and this year’s Wired event is a testament to that mission.
“There’s a unique electricity when you’re in a room full of people who love big ideas as much as you do. You’ll hear talks that stretch your perspective, meet people who expand your network, and leave with thoughts you’ll still be unpacking weeks later,” Snow says. “What sets this experience apart is that it stays with you and continues evolving through the TEDxNashville community and our Spotlight Series events all year long.”
TEDxNashville events are only available through season memberships, which includes access to Wired as well as other events throughout the season, and can be purchased online. (tedxnashville.com)
