Nashville local Scott Hamilton is completing a 444-mile trek via bike across the Natchez Trace in support of cancer research.
He is set to cross the finish line at Loveless Cafe on Saturday, May 7, around 3 p.m. The second annual “Erase the Trace” ride benefits Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) research as part of the Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation.
Hamilton's ride began on May 3 in Natchez, Mississippi and continued ninety miles to Clinton, Mississippi. He then rode 92.3 miles on May 4 from Clinton to French Camp, Mississippi, 90.4 miles on May 5 to Saltillo, Mississippi, and 85.1 miles on May 6 to Collinwood, Tennessee;. The final leg of the journey will continue for 87.8 miles on May 7. Hamilton is joined on the ride by Johnny Burrell, a Nashville-based CranioSacral therapist, who currently holds three records in cycling.
