Founded in 1870, The Webb School is a boarding and day school that offers challenging academics with an emphasis on personal integrity for students in grades 6-12. Our family-like setting provides a 7:1 student to teacher ratio and an average class size of 12, Webb’s flexible curriculum and small class size challenge students as individuals, allowing them to exceed their expectations. Our 150-acre campus is located just south of Nashville in historic Bell Buckle. Webb is committed to providing opportunity to families and offers over $4 million in financial aid and scholarships.
Why Boarding School?
Boarding schools foster independence in a close, nurturing environment. From practicing basic responsibilities to learning social engagement on their own away from home, Webb students are encouraged to think and act for themselves in a way that facilitates the transition to college and eventually into their adult lives. Webb ladies and gentlemen are not only held accountable by their teachers and their dorm parents, but also by their peers. With students from 15 states and 23 countries, Webb is a place where students are exposed to people and viewpoints from well beyond what’s familiar to them. Webb’s close-knit community instills in its students the finer points of honor and scholarship, qualities that the school’s founder, Sawney Webb, strove to inspire in his students. At Webb, teachers know and care for their students in a way that goes beyond the day student’s experience: they’re living life alongside their students.
Parents can know that their children are in a safe environment that nurtures and cares for them, and moreover, one that feels like home. Our rural and intimate setting promotes a focus on personal values, not materialism, so that student acceptance comes from within. These unique qualities create what we call The Character of Home. Families are encouraged to experience The Webb Difference firsthand by scheduling a personal visit to campus. Personal visits are available Monday through Friday and appointments can be made by calling 931-389-6003 or visiting (thewebbschool.com)
Tips:
“As a boarding student, our son has grown within a safe and supportive environment. We are impressed with his sense of honor, responsibility and independence. His self-confidence unfolds more each day and we are certain that he will be well equipped to handle the opportunities and challenges of life.” — Webb Parent
“Boarding school isn’t just an academic change; it is growth that you want to see in your child. It’s the maturity and development of confidence that you can’t put a price tag on.” — Webb Parent
