Since the opening of its first House in 1995 on London’s Greek Street, the members-only club, Soho House, has been uniting and inspiring creative minds on a global level.
With members around the world, Soho House aims to foster creativity in all its forms as a place for members to connect, grow, have fun, and make an impact. Now, Nashvillians can experience the novelty of Soho House right in their own backyard with the opening of the newest House in North America, Soho House Nashville. Located in the art hub of Wedgewood-Houston, Soho House Nashville is designed around art and entertainment featuring three performance spaces, 47 bedrooms, a pool, health club, a screening room, and the first in-house Cecconi’s restaurant, Club Cecconi’s. And when it came to choosing a city to launch the newest House, Soho House Founder and CEO Nick Jones saw Nashville as a perfect fit.
“We’ve always had our sights on Nashville. There’s a culture here of really decent, very creative people, and it’s such an emerging, energetic city with such strong ties to the arts and music,” says Nick Jones. “We’ve seen appetite for more Houses, especially in North America. I’m excited that our members will now be able to visit and discover Nashville—it’s a great city.”
Drawing inspiration from the city’s rich history, along with that of the building itself, the House feels undoubtedly authentic to Nashville. Formerly the May Hosiery Building, which once made socks that astronauts wore to the moon, the design of the House pays homage to the building’s factory history with Bauhaus-inspired striking geometric patterns, bold industrial finishes, and bespoke fixtures. At the heart of entertainment in Soho House Nashville is the aptly titled Sock Room, hosting music, live entertainment, members’ of the sock machine once used in the factory, juxtaposed with the soft material of rich velvet and textured linen sheers, to create a cozy, inviting atmosphere.
Tasteful historic nods continue in the Club Room with specially designed pieces of furniture and designs from local artisans. Industrial metal shelving creates more intimate vignettes within the main Club Room, including a library with a fireplace. There’s also a games area, the in-house Italian restaurant Club Cecconi’s, and a central bar that wraps around 360 degrees to connect the inside of the space with a gorgeous outdoor terrace.

And of course, plenty of musical influences can be found throughout the House. Warm, rich textures resemble the rock and roll era; decorative patterns nod to jazz and blues; and the bold striped floor of the pool terrace mirrors a guitar string board. Several event spaces, including a secret outdoor garden performance area, provide ample space for live music programming along with the April launch of Soho Rising in North America, which aims to identify and support up-and-coming musical talent. From musicians, to Tennessee furniture and fabric makers, to the city’s largest collection of local contemporary art (comprised of 41 artists born, based, or trained in Tennessee), Soho House Nashville spotlights the local talent for which Music City is known.
“We strive to make each House feel familiar for members no matter the location – whether Nashville, Barcelona, or Hong Kong—but we aim to make each unique to the city and neighborhood. We always start with a clean slate because we also want to ensure we design the House around how our members will use the space,” says Jones.
For members looking for an overnight stay, Soho House Nashville boasts 47 stunning rooms ranging in size. Each room includes a glamorous oversized chandelier and an industrious metal work screen separating the bathroom from the bedroom. In addition, there are plenty of vintage accessories, custom pieces from local furniture makers, and works from distinguished Tennessee artists. Members can also enjoy amenities such as a sun-soaked outdoor pool and terrace; a state-of-the- art fitness center complete with a gym, yoga terrace, and sauna; and a screening room designed for optimal cinematic experiences.
With so much to experience, it’s no surprise that creatives worldwide apply for Soho House membership. And when it comes to selecting members, extensive thought goes into curating a network of positive, uplifting individuals who create Soho House’s inspirational atmosphere.
“Soho House is a space where everyone can flourish. We want members who are kind, passionate, and have a creative soul. Our members are at the heart of everything we do, and we offer different membership types based on our member’s lifestyles whether that’s a local membership, Every House, Soho Works, or our Friends membership for those looking for access to Soho House bedrooms, studio spaces, and events,” Jones says.
From the impeccable design to the lavish offerings, Soho House Nashville is truly one-of-a-kind, just like the members that comprise it.
“When you stay here, you’re in a place that’s full of like-minded people from Nashville and beyond. And to see the club fill up with people enjoying themselves? That’s my motivation and the reason why I do what I do,” says Jones. “Soho House is all about bringing people together and filling the room with people who are smiling, laughing, having fun, having great conversations, and just happy.” (sohohouse.com)
