This fall, the celebrated modern art gallery CASS Contemporary (CASS) makes its Nashville debut with CLTRL CNTXT, a group exhibition opening on Friday, Sept. 12, and running through November. This exhibit brings together seven international artists in a powerful reflection on global identity, connection, and culture.
Founded in Tampa, Florida, CASS has built a national reputation for bold, thought-provoking contemporary art. Now, with the launch of its Nashville location, the gallery brings its curatorial vision to Music City, kicking off with a show that asks: In a world that’s so hyperconnected but often fragmented, what still brings us together?
CLTRL CNTXT features seven artists from seven countries: Florian Eymann, Michal Mraz, Joram Roukes, Kim Byungkwan, Allison Hueman, Nicholas Romero Escalada, and Fintan Magee, with each contributing two to three original paintings. Together, their work explores how shared cultural references, ranging from television characters and iconic art to historical figures and pop culture symbols, can build bridges across lived experiences and national borders.
Curated as both a visual and cultural dialogue, the exhibition reflects CASS Contemporary’s mission: to spotlight voices from around the world and spark meaningful engagement through art.
