In Nashville, beauty has always been about balance — polished but (hopefully) not trying too hard. You can see it in the way people dress, the way they decorate their homes, and even the way they order dinner. Elevated, yes. Overdone? Not intentionally.
But right now, that balance is evolving.
Across the city, top aesthetic providers say the goal isn’t transformation — it’s precision. Patients aren’t walking in asking to look like someone else. They’re asking to look like themselves, just a little more rested, more defined, more confident. The tools, however, are getting more sophisticated.
We’re talking neck lifts that create a jawline some patients never had to begin with. Hair restoration so natural you’d never know — if you didn’t know. Injectables that move with your face instead of sitting on top of it. Even long-standing procedures — from rhinoplasty to veneers — are being reworked.
It’s also, many times, happening earlier in life. More people are choosing to get ahead of aging rather than react to it. Patients are opting for subtle, cumulative treatments that build over time.
The through line? Results that feel invisible but make a visible difference.
Dr. Dan Hatef explains the trending face of refinement
Bring a photo — but don’t expect to become it.
That’s the balance Dr. Dan Hatef is navigating as more patients arrive with highly specific references and increasingly subtle goals.
“Lately, it seems to be all about lips,” he says, though not in the way it once was. After a surge in lip lifts several years ago, Hatef is now seeing patients who want to reverse or refine earlier work. “They just don’t look like themselves, and they can’t quite put their finger on it,” he says. Typically, the fix is a short, in-office procedure. He is also seeing an uptick in requests for scarless lip lifts.
Many of his patients are also interested in breast procedures, but as with lip procedures, the goals have changed.
“My specialty is cleavage,” Hatef says. The goal is definition without obvious intervention. That balance is evolving with newer implant options like Motiva, which Hatef uses in select cases — including implant exchanges, tuberous breast correction, and patients with naturally constricted or “boxy” breasts. The implants create a more natural contour.
Facial procedures are moving in tandem with the less-is-more philosophy. Hatef specializes in preservation rhinoplasty, which maintains more of the nose’s natural structure while minimizing trauma. Combined with tools like the piezo saw, the approach reduces bruising and swelling.
At his practice, Hatef is seeing facelifts growing in popularity for patients in their late 40s to mid-50s. He’s also seeing older patients seeking rhinoplasty.
“It’s something they’ve always wanted, and now that they have the financial freedom to do it, they are taking advantage of it,” he says.
