The onset of fall means shorter days, cooler air, and—unfortunately—drier skin.
Just as your wardrobe changes (bring on the knee-high boots and sweaters), your skincare must also be modified this season, too. A proper fall skincare routine will correct damage caused by sun, chlorine, and saltwater during the summer months and proactively hydrate the skin in preparation for the dry winter air.
Here, Amber Cruth, RN, the lead aesthetics provider at OVME, shares how to keep your skin prepped and ready for the cooler months.
1. Avoid hot showers.
"Although they feel amazing, frequent hot showers will dry the skin."
2. Stay hydrated.
"Healthy, glowing skin begins from within; I recommend eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day, which equals about 2 liters, or half a gallon. This is called the 8x8 rule and is very easy to remember."
3. Protect the lips.
"My absolute favorite lip balm is the Ultra Repair Lip Therapy by First Aid Beauty. It’s a petroleum free product that helps hydrate, nourish and protect chapped skin."
4. To repair sun-kissed summer skin, try the Lytera 2.0 System.
"When used together, these six SkinMedica®products have been clinically shown to reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation, as well as overall photo damage. The System Includes: Lytera® 2.0 Pigment Correcting Serum; Total Defense + Repair Broad Spectrum Sunscreen SPF 34; Retinol Complex 0.5; AHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser; AHA/BHA Cream; and Rejuvenative Moisturizer." Visit the OVME online store to purchase the Lytera 2.0 System.
Now through December 31, 2018, new clients will receive 20% off their first visit or membership.
