The Vanderbilt Sixteen choral ensemble will present a lecture concert on Friday, October 24, 2025.
📣 Join us at Blair School of Music on Friday, October 24 for a choral lecture concert by The Vanderbilt Sixteen, directed by Tucker Biddlecombe.
This program explores the breadth of treble-voice choral repertoire across centuries and styles. Fauré’s “low mass” had complicated origins, but over 25 years evolved into the version you’ll hear performed: for three-part treble voices, violin solo, and organ. Britten’s Ceremony of Carols, scored for harp and treble voices, is one of the enduring masterworks from the mid 20th century. Closing the program are contemporary arrangements by the vocal ensemble säje, whose works Desert Song and Evergreen bring a fresh, expressive voice to today’s choral music.
