Tickets are now available for the 14th annual Tennessee Local Food Summit, scheduled for Dec. 6-8, at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tenn. This annual event unites farmers, ranchers, food system advocates, and professionals to foster a resilient and equitable local food network in Middle Tennessee and the Southeast region at large.
Keynote speakers for this year’s summit include Reginaldo Haslett-Marroquin of Tree-Range Farms & Regenerative Agriculture Alliance, and Pastor Chris Battle of Battlefield Farms.
During this year’s conference, farmers, gardeners, educators, activists, entrepreneurs, and food system stakeholders will gather to connect, learn, and discuss this year’s theme, "Rooted in Resilience: The Future of Our Food Ecosystem.” Open to the public through registration, attendees will enjoy farm fresh meals throughout the weekend sourced from area growers and purveyors. Conference highlights include sessions and workshops featuring expert speakers and panelists, a seed swap, a farm tour, a vendor trade show, locally sourced meals, and valuable networking opportunities. The Phila Awards ceremony will once again be part of this year’s summit, which celebrates the people, groups, and organizations using food and cooking virtuously.
“Through a range of programming, we hope to explore how to create a food supply that supports earth’s systems and all its beings,” said Natalie Ashker Seevers,
Executive Director of TN Local Food. “We’ll discuss how embracing diverse, traditional knowledge sources can shape a future where everyone has access to healthy, sustainable food.”
