The thirty-third annual Summer Shakespeare Festival is back and better than ever with two productions from two of the greatest playwrights of all time: August Wilson and William Shakespeare. Nashville Shakes is joining forces with Kennie Playhouse Theatre to produce August Wilson’s JITNEY, directed by Chuck Smith of the Goodman Theatre in Chicago, from August 12-22. Then, playing from August 26 – September 12, is Shakespeare’s 12th NIGHT, directed by Jim Warren of the American Shakespeare Center. The festival will be held at oneC1TY with gates opening at 5:15.
