Be sure to check out Hot Stove League, the new exhibition at Gallery 56 curated by Allie Horick and Mauro Barreto. Hot Stove League brings together the work of Post-Nothing, a critique group of Nashville-based artists. Founded in late February 2024, Post-Nothing has been meeting regularly to discuss and critique its member’s work. From these meetings, curators Allie Horick and Mauro Antonio Barreto identified recurring themes, from memory to perception, spirituality to ecology, and mass media to popular culture across what members were making. Inspired by the concept of a baseball hot stove league, a period of off-season speculation and debate, Horick and Barreto conceived this exhibition as a space for dialogue and connection among the group’s diverse practices.
