Some of Nashville’s boldest emerging voices serve up 10 minutes each from five new works-in-progress, offering audiences a first taste of the plays that could define tomorrow’s stages. The New Play Platter is your chance to sample a spoonful of what’s cooking in Nashville’s evolving theater community, offering a smorgasbord of perspectives and exciting plots. An audacious family story of a Filipino-American teenager reconnecting with her estranged father, who is now an Elvis impersonator, by Josh Inocalla
An epic, futuristic tale of Black refugees aboard an unsanctioned Nigerian space craft by Maya Antoinette Riley
A romantic exploration of first loves and climate change set on a fictionalized sinking island by Shea Stripling & Kyle Sahadeo
A fever dream imagined dialogue between Nietzsche and Dostoevsky by Mike Lacy
