Anne Byrn's "Baking in the American South"
Les Dames d’Escoffier’s Nashville Chapter presents the eighth annual Lunch with Les Dames fundraiser featuring Dame Anne Byrn, former food journalist and New York Times best-selling cookbook author, in conversation with Dame Margot McCormack, chef/owner of Margot Café & Bar and James Beard Foundation Semifinalist.
Byrn became a household name with the release of “The Cake Mix Doctor” in 1999 and has since published more than a dozen cookbooks that have sold millions of copies worldwide. During the Lunch with Les Dames luncheon and conversation, McCormack and Byrn will discuss Byrn’s most recent release, “Baking in the American South,” a definitive exploration of the history, recipes and stories of Southern bakes and bakers from all backgrounds and walks of life. Attendees will also enjoy a three-course meal and wine pairings prepared by the team at Margot Café featuring dishes inspired by Byrn’s latest book.
The annual luncheon and conversation fundraiser has become a local holiday tradition that allows Les Dames Nashville to further its mission of providing scholarship and mentorship to women in food, beverage, hospitality and farming, including its career advancement grant program. Byrn is a co-founder of the Nashville chapter and one of the co-creators of the event.
Tickets for Lunch with Les Dames, which include a signed copy of “Baking in the American South,” meal, beverage pairings, tax and gratuity, are $135. Additional books will also be available for purchase onsite. The event is limited to 75 people.
