Josef Newgarden Celebrity Ping-Pong Challenge
Josef Newgarden and Hélio Castroneves
Thursday, Aug. 5, prior to the Music City Grand Prix, two-time IndyCar Champion and Nashville-native Josef Newgarden will host the third-annual Josef Newgarden Celebrity Ping-Pong Challenge sponsored by POWERHOME SOLAR to support SeriousFun Children’s Network (SeriousFun).
More than 30 years ago, Paul Newman started a free camp where children living with serious illnesses and their families could escape the fear and isolation of their medical conditions and, in his words, “raise a little hell.” That camp sparked a global movement and today, SeriousFun is made up of 30 camps and programs around the world serving the needs of children living with more than 50 medical conditions and their families. Since that first camp opened in 1988, SeriousFun has delivered more than 1.4 million life-changing camp experiences free of charge to these families.
Newgarden’s goal, together with more than 20 celebrity teams and the event’s title sponsor POWERHOME SOLAR, is to raise $200,000, which will cover the cost of 80 residential camp experiences.
The public is invited to attend, and one hundred percent of ticket proceeds are donated to SeriousFun Children's Network.
