Introduction to Arts Grant Writing
New to grant writing or find yourself overwhelmed by the grant writing process? Have no fear! This workshop will provide you with the basic knowledge and understanding of how to identify appropriate grant opportunities, plan for and prepare compelling applications, and avoid common mistakes when applying for public and private grant funding.
In addition to learning the basics of arts grant writing, this workshop will examine samples of grant applications and discuss actionable tactics to strengthen them in order for organizations and individuals to be more effective in securing grant awards. A mix of technical knowledge and practical application, this workshop is ideal for those relatively new to the grants process, or those looking to refresh their skills in crafting more successful grant applications.
Learning Objectives:
-Understand what funders are looking for in grant applications.
-Be able to decipher confusing grant terminology.
-Evaluate grant opportunities and determine if you are prepared to apply.
-Gain basic knowledge and understanding of what elements go into a successful grant application.
-Have strategies to create compelling grant applications that infuse your/your organization’s strengths in your proposal to tell a strong, competitive story.
