An Evening with Allison Russell, a Love & Revolution Benefit

Poet, singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, writer and social activist Allison Russell will perform a benefit for Healing Housing, a nonprofit serving local women healing from addiction who are without financial resources. She will be joined onstage by musical artist Kyshona at the Franklin Theatre. From a background of childhood trauma, Russell unpacks her youth in searing detail in her debut record, and forthcoming book, Outside Child. Russell eventually pursued work as a social worker placing her on the frontlines of the addiction crisis. Today Russell creates music about deliverance and redemption, about the places and people and realizations that helped her survive and claim her freedom.
