Renowned for his dazzling performances worldwide, organist David Higgs brings his acclaimed musicianship to Nashville.
The American Guild of Organists, Nashville Chapter, is pleased to present the Sharron Lyon Memorial Concert featuring world-renowned organist David Higgs on Monday, October 13, 2025, at 7:00 PM at First Baptist Church, 108 7th Avenue South, Nashville. A reception will follow the performance.
One of America’s leading concert organists, David Higgs is the Minehan Family Professor of Organ and Chair of the Organ Department at the Eastman School of Music. He performs extensively throughout the United States and abroad, and has inaugurated many important new instruments, including those at Meyerson Symphony Center in Dallas, St. Albans Cathedral in England, Church of St. Ignatius Loyola in New York City, and most recently, Christ Church Cathedral in Cincinnati.
For more than twenty years, Higgs captivated capacity audiences with his annual holiday organ concerts at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco and Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles. His collaborative performances have included engagements with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center, the Orpheus Ensemble, Chanticleer, and Empire Brass.
This concert honors the memory of Sharron Lyon, a devoted supporter of the organ and sacred music in Nashville.
