Nashville’s newest dining and nightlife destination has officially arrived in Hillsboro Village at 1910 Belcourt Ave. Nowhere Special, an elevated restaurant, patio, brunch destination and late-night gathering place from Make a Play (MAP) Hospitality, will officially open in mid-July, offering a hospitality experience unlike anything else in the city.
Located in the heart of Nashville, Nowhere Special was created for locals seeking a stylish, sophisticated atmosphere where exceptional food, cocktails, music and hospitality come together seven days a week. Featuring dinner service, weekend brunch, happy hour programming, a fully covered patio and an energetic late-night atmosphere, the concept is designed to seamlessly transition from after-work cocktails and business dinners to weekend celebrations and late-night gatherings.
"After years of building concepts across Nashville, we saw an opportunity to create something that felt different in this city," said Joe Johnson, co-founder of MAP Hospitality. "We wanted to create a place where people come because they trust the entire experience — the atmosphere, the music, the food, the drinks and the people. That's what Nowhere Special is all about."
The concept reflects lessons learned over more than a decade of operating hospitality venues throughout the region, including acclaimed dining and entertainment concepts that helped define Nashville's evolving social scene. At Nowhere Special, those experiences culminate in a venue designed to serve multiple occasions while maintaining a singular identity centered around quality and hospitality.
Guests can expect a menu of shareable, chef-driven dishes designed to encourage conversation and connection, complemented by thoughtfully crafted cocktails, an approachable wine program and premium spirits selections. The culinary program is led by Chef Jerod Wilcher, whose menu blends elevated comfort and contemporary American influences with an emphasis on flavor, presentation and approachability.
The menu will offer a variety of standout dishes and offer guests a well-rounded and memorable dining experience. Start the Nowhere Special dining experience with a sampling of shareables, including Shrimp & Crab Dip, Nowhere Baked Wings, or classic Oysters Rockefeller, or dive into something heartier with mains that include a delicious and massive Tomahawk Steak.
At the heart of Nowhere Special is the elevated cocktail program, where seasonal ingredients and mixology expertise meet to create a menu of refreshing and unique craft cocktails. The Summer Cocktail Menu includes bright, fresh offerings like the bubbly Sunset Lychee Spritz, the tropical-inspired Blood Orange Creamsicle and the delicate Lavender Margarita. Adventurous drinkers will love the Hot Summer Slice, a crisp blend of tequila, watermelon and jalapeños with a savory bacon salt rim, or the Hookah Heat, a sweet and spicy concoction of spiced rum, pineapple, lime and chili syrup.
The venue itself underwent a complete transformation, with significant investments made in lighting, audio, visual design, and guest experience. The result is a warm, modern environment that feels equally suited for a casual weekday dinner, an important business meeting, a celebratory brunch or an evening out with friends.
"What makes this place unique is the attention to every detail," said Johnson. "We spent an incredible amount of time thinking about how people want to feel when they walk through the doors. From the lighting and sound to the patio and service style, every decision was made to create an experience people will want to return to again and again."
Weekend brunch service will launch immediately alongside dinner operations, reinforcing Nashville's reputation as one of the country's premier brunch cities. Guests can also enjoy daily happy hour specials, curated music programming, and extended late-night hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
Beyond opening week, Nowhere Special plans to host a variety of special events, curated experiences and community-focused programming designed to establish the venue as a year-round destination for Nashville residents and visitors alike.
