Peruse any roundup of top brunch spots in the city and you can bet your bottom silver dollar pancakes that RH Nashville is somewhere on that list.
In a city with no shortage of ace brunch menus, it’s especially notable that a home furnishings retailer ranks high on that list. But for those who’ve chalked up the 70,000-square-foot Green Hills home-and-hospitality experience as a one-trick brunch pony, RH Nashville’s new mantra might just be: Hold my wine.
RH Nashville has recently launched an ambitious new wine menu that squarely positions it as one of the most robust grape selections in the city. If you’re thinking happy hour toasts and moody date night drinks under their massive crystal and iron chandelier, well, you’re right on. Inspired by RH’s contemporary and classically inspired design ethos, the new wine program is a study of balance and symmetry, featuring 40 wines by the glass with 10 offerings per category — sparkling, rosé, white, and red. While the previous wine program focused largely on up-and-coming vintners and obscure bottles, the new program is stocked with labels oenophiles are likely to recognize immediately, chock full of timeless varietals from classic regions with a special focus on the Napa Valley, located just north of the brand’s Corte Madera headquarters.
Balancing luxury with familiarity, you’ll find pours from esteemed vintners across the United States and Europe, such as Perrier Jouët, Antinori, Silver Oak and Caymus-Suisun, all offered by the glass. If you’re looking to surprise your palate with something a bit off the beaten path, RH’s new menu also gives you access to a selection of rare, limited-production wines by the bottle that have not previously been available outside of Napa Valley. While settling in at the bar for a glass or two of grapes is a perfectly acceptable way to wind down the night, taking a meal in the Wine Vault—a striking lounge space with elegant banquette seating and iridescent gold, groin-vaulted ceilings—offers an intimate nook for surveying the scene before you while positioning yourself for a magical pairing of food and drink
And RH’s seasonal, ingredient-driven menu offers plenty of opportunities to do exactly that. The crisp, light-bodied bubbles of Bisol prosecco accentuate the fresh, vibrancy of the heirloom tomatoes nestled amongst billowy clouds of burrata. Not to be outdone, the fruity minerality of Domaine Ferret’s Pouilly-Fuissé plays perfectly into the hands of a simple buttermilk-dressed gem lettuce salad. For a hearty main course, the robust and fruit-forward earthiness of Silver Oak’s Cabernet Sauvignon helps to elevate a classic comfort food combo: burger and fries. Although in RH’s case, the fries in question are bathed in black truffles and Parmigiano-Reggiano.
Seems like this year, dinner is the new brunch. (The new wine menu at RH Nashville offers wines by the glass ranging from $14 to $37. Bottles start at $56 and can run up to $475 or more.)
