FOOD NEWS:
There's a new booze in town, and it's just in time for patio season. Bravazzi Hard Italian Soda is an all-natural, gluten-free sparkling alcohol beverage available in three bold, sippable citrus flavors: Grapefruit, Limonata, and Blood Orange.
Tucked in the ground floor of the Thompson Nashville hotel, Killebrew coffee shop will transform into a late-night bar on Friday and Saturday nights (5 p.m. - 12 a.m.), serving up coffee-inspired cocktails.
Speaking of coffee, Nashville's java offerings are changing: Starbucks has staked a claim on properties in the Gulch, the Encore tower, and the Courtyard by Marriott Nashville Downtown hotel; Australian coffee shop 37 Degrees Sth is coming to Belle Meade; and Café Intermezzo just announced its first locale outside of Atlanta will be opening in Music City this fall. Plux, Edgehill Cafe now serves Steadfast Coffee and the ever-popular Matchless Coffee Soda.
Choose from these three new brunch offerings in town: Bongo Java's BOX (Bongo + Bakery on 10th) is serving up all-day breakfast, lunch, and tasty baked goods; Maggiano's just debuted a daily brunch menu; and Sinema's all-you-can-eat Sunday brunch features buffet-style stations for $25 (and bottomless brunch beverages for an additional $15).
Sports fans, this one's for you: East Nashville's The Mainstay, a 4,000-square-foot chef-driven sports bar, will open April 1, featuring a full bar, 20 TVs, and elevated, locally-sourced bar fare.
Sylvan Park's long-awaited answer restaurant will follow closely behind with an opening slated for April 4. The comfortably modern neighborhood hang will feature globally-inspired shareable plates and composed dishes.
When one door (or, in our case, restaurant) closes, another one opens: Hattie B's is taking The Hook's spot on 8th Avenue, and Chicago-based Asian restaurant Sunda is filling Cantina Laredo's former outpost in the Gulch.
Grab a bite at the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum's 2|22 for a metropolitan twist on Southern lunch staples. Each meal supports the museum's mission to collect, preserve, and interpret the evolving history and traditions of country music.
