Maggie’s Place, a neighborhood bar and restaurant located at 905 51st Ave N, will open this fall in The Nations. Maggie’s Place will be open daily for lunch, dinner, and late-night food and beverage, with a full-service bar and kitchen, indoor seating, and a sprawling outdoor area with fire pits, games, and large TVs for sports and other event broadcasts.
Maggie’s Place is a locally owned and operated establishment with a partnership team comprised of Nashville hospitality pros, including Ian Byars of Sonny’s Patio Pub & Refuge, Steve Perdue and Jacob Forth who are partners in neighboring bar Perfectly Fine, personal chef and hospitality investor Edward Lipnickas, and Rob Buck of Savager, LLC, who also is managing the buildout for Maggie’s Place. Good Spirit Painters is overseeing interior and exterior design, including a signature Venetian plaster technique.
“This property is a neighborhood gem, and we are planning to use the entire indoor and outdoor space as an amenity for those who live, work, and play here,” said Byars. “The term ‘neighborhood bar’ gets tossed around often, but our goal is to give our neighbors what they’d like to see in The Nations – great food, great drinks, and an easygoing atmosphere. Bring your dogs, watch the game on TV, or play some games in the yard. We’ll be family friendly every day before 7, and transition to an adults-only atmosphere later.”
The menu, developed by Byars and chef Javier Bonacic of Subculture Urban Cuisine & Cafe, will focus on handheld options, including tacos, mesquite wings, and signature quesadilla pockets. More details on the menu features will be released soon.
Forth is overseeing the beverage program for Maggie’s Place, and guests can expect a variety of playful and balanced island themed cocktail with unexpected twists. N/A versions will be available. The beer offerings will emphasize pitchers and buckets, ideal for large group gatherings.
“Maggie’s will be an amazing place to step into a vacation mindset with island drinks and draft beer, which we will offer as individual servings or large format,” said Forth. “Everything about the food and drink menus is thoughtful but aren’t too serious. We have dialed in the things people enjoy, and are building a festive, laidback space for all to enjoy.”
An opening date and hours will be announced in the coming weeks. Maggie’s Place will welcome all ages, then will transition to a 21+ establishment at 7 p.m. daily. For more information, visit Maggie’s Place online.
