Little Miss Mao, a concept from James Beard semifinalist Sophina Uong, will officially open its doors on March 10.
Nestled inside Skinny Dennis, a Brooklyn-born honky tonk bar, Little Miss Mao pays homage to Uong’s roots while showcasing her signature eclectic and adventurous culinary style.
“Nashville felt like the perfect next step—it’s a city with incredible energy, a dynamic food scene, and a deep love for bold, creative flavors,” says Uong. “Partnering with the Skinny Dennis team is an ideal fit; they share my passion for doing things differently and creating spaces that feel alive and authentic. We look forward to making new friends, working with farmers, local food artisans and introducing Nashville to some spicy Khmer flavors.”
Little Miss Mao will feature Uong’s signature “unapologetically inauthentic” cuisine, blending global flavors with an emphasis on elevated bar snacks. Highlights of the menu include Garlic Noodles, Pani Puri, and Prahok Ktiss.
Located at 2635 Gallatin Pike, Little Miss Mao will serve food seven days a week from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. More details on brunch service and food delivery is forthcoming.
