2020 was a monumental year for The Hermitage Hotel.
Not only did it receive National Historic Landmark status, but the hotel was also named the 2020 Historic Hotel of the Year by Historic Hotels of America. Now it seems 2021 will stack up to be just as impressive for The Hermitage as they usher in a brand new chef and restaurant.
World-renowned chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten will take over the hotel's Capitol Grille space and open his first Southern-inspired restaurant this coming fall. Although this is Jean-Georges' first Nashville endeavor, he is no stranger to the food and beverage industry having successfully launched 39 restaurants in cities ranging from Paris to Shanghai.
Although the restaurant is yet to be named, hotel guests, locals, and tourists alike can expect to find a menu of Vongerichten's signature plant-based dishes as well as wood-fired pizza. With the changes, The Capitol Grille space will also undergo a modern renovation that includes its own separate entrance accessible via Sixth Avenue.
