After months of hosting pop-up events around the city, East Side Bánh Mì will officially open its doors to the public on Thursday, August 13.
The new fast-casual eatery by husband and wife duo Grace Nguyen and Chad Newton will be serving up an array of artisanal, locally-sourced bites and Vietnamese-style bánh mì sandwiches. On the menu, guests will find classics such as a cold cut combo with ham hock terrine, pâté and smoked bologna, marinated and seared chopped steak, and impossible "pork” meatball. All bánh mì sandwiches will be served on a fresh house baked 10” baguette with fried shallot mayo, pickles, cilantro, jalapeños, and Maggi.

In addition to traditional bánh mìs, the menu will feature different types of bowls, spring rolls, and Vietnamese beverages including Toasted Peanut Rice Milk and Vietnamese Iced Coffee by Nguyen Coffee Supply.
Nguyen and Newton both grew up with a love for cooking, and through their accomplished careers in the restaurant industry have gained a passion for combining genuine hospitality and authentic cuisines with fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. With East Side Bánh Mì, the couple hopes to provide artisanal, yet approachable food served in a fast and friendly environment to the East Nashville community and beyond.
On opening day, the restaurant will donate 50 percent of sales to Hands on Nashville, a non-profit that connects thousands of volunteers to more 300 service projects each month around the city.
